Print at home

Paged Out! can be printed at home and it can be a cool arts & crafts project!

Unfortunately, at this time, we don't have any solid tips for you. Quite the opposite — if you've done this and you're happy with the result, and you've published a printing tutorial or have some tips you'd like to share, please let us know at prints@pagedout.institute. Feel free to also contact us if you need print files formatted in some specific way — maybe we can help.

And if you're really happy with the result and would like to try printing and binding some more copies and then selling them, please contact us for a commercial license — we're happy to work both with minor home prints and large resellers!.

Note: A lot of printing companies do digital prints nowadays — meaning they can go as low as printing just a single copy. Look around your area for one — perhaps they can print you a copy pretty cheaply?

What we know so far

This section will get updated the more information we have to share.

Printing at home is pretty tricky. For one, a lot of small office / home office printers aren't able to print on the whole A4 page — they always leave a margin. Secondly, the cover (hint: thicker better quality paper) and binding can require some work.

The easiest way to get a good result is to use an A3 printer that can print on the whole page (e.g. a photo printer) and print two A4 pages per A3 side. If you properly do a double-sided print, all that is left at the end is to do a so-called saddle stitch binding. This can be done either with a pair of staples (you need a long-arm stapler for these) or with a thread and needle.

That being said, you can also achieve a solid result with an A4 printer, but binding can be a bit more challenging.
