Part of our mission to get Paged Out! available in as many places as possible is to provide opportunities for interested readers to buy printed copies. As such, we're open to partner with interested merchants!
If you would like to sell printed copies of Paged Out!, please contact us about a commercial license at prints@pagedout.institute. We're happy to work both with very small sellers who print and bind Paged Out! at home, and with large sellers who want to print hundreds or thousands of Paged Out! copies and distribute them!
When in doubt, just contact us — we don't bite and we're happy to work with you on resolving your questions. :)
Q: Me and my friends just want to chip in to print some copies at a local printing company for ourselves — do we need a commercial license?
A: No commercial license is needed in this case.
Q: I want to print some Paged Out! for my event and give them away for free to attendees. Do I need a commercial license?
A: No commercial license is needed in this case as long as all attendees have an equal chance to receive Paged Out! For example, if you would separately sell event tickets with and without Paged Out!, then you do require a commercial license. See also the Events and printed Paged Out! page.
Q: I want to print a certain number of copies and sell them online. Do I need a commercial license?
A: Yes, please contact us and let's chat!
Q: Is the commercial license a one time payment or does it involve licensing fees?
A: The commercial license involves licensing fees on sold copies.
Q: I'm an arts and crafts YouTuber and I would like to showcase on YouTube how to bind Paged Out! at home so that it looks amazing! Do I need a commercial license?
A: No commercial license is needed unless you're selling the final product.
Q: I'm an arts and crafts YouTuber and I would like to sell tutorials on how to correctly print and bind Paged Out! at home. Do I need a commercial license?

Q: Can we get an exclusive reseller license for a certain geographical region?
A: We are reluctant to issue exclusive licenses. We might make exceptions, but they would have a lot of small print.
Q: Who manages Paged Out!'s commercial license program?
A: The same company which we hired to manage the magazine, i.e. HexArcana Cybersecurity GmbH registered in Switzerland.
Q: Where does the money from the commercial license fees go?
A: This works the same way as any other project income. First and foremost it goes to cover any Paged Out! project expenses, as our main goal is always for the project to be self-sufficient. Once this is covered, the remaining profit is shared with authors of articles provided to us under profit-sharing licenses (like variants of our Standard Author's Agreement).
